William Sewell, Frank P. Hixon Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus of Political Science and History, has been awarded the inaugural Ibn Khaldun Award for Distinguished Scholarship in recognition of a “lifetime of outstanding contributions to the subfield of comparative-historical sociology” by the Comparative Historical Section of the American Sociological Association.
