The newly renovated Emeriti Center occupies the Klowden Family Library located at Alumni House 5555 S. Woodlawn Ave (at the corner of 56th and Woodlawn Ave.). The Emeriti Center provides a lounge space for socializing and for emeriti to work while on campus. The emeriti community is free to use the lounge, which will continue to be the home of regular emeriti events such as the Gomer Lecture Series and of special engagement opportunities and lectures throughout the year. Emeriti are welcome to bring a guest to the lounge.

The Emeriti Center is open weekdays from 9am-5pm during the academic year.

Reserving the Emeriti Center Lounge

The Emeriti Center's lounge is available for emeriti to reserve for meetings, workshops, and events they have organized. To find out more and reserve the space, please email emeritifaculty@uchicago.edu with dates and event details. 

Accessing the Emeriti Center

The entrance to Alumni House is located on 56th street (with an accessible ramp). To enter the building, use your UChicago ID card to tap the access panel located outside the door. Once you enter the building, the lounge is located in room 106 immediately on your left; you will need to use your UChicago ID card again to enter the lounge.

Accessible bathrooms are available on the first floor.
