Emeriti Faculty Steering Committee Established

September 05, 2017

In response to a Spring 2016 report on emeriti engagement by an emeriti faculty working group, Provost Daniel Diermeier has established a standing Emeriti Faculty Steering Committee, co-chaired by David Bevington and Michael LaBarbera.

The Emeriti Faculty Steering Committee will advise the University on addressing the remaining concerns discussed in the Spring 2016 report and will continue to serve as a resource and advisory voice for emeriti. There will be regular opportunities for others to work with the committee on specific issues and ideas, and the Office of the Provost will provide more information on these ways to engage in the Fall. Should emeriti faculty have any questions related to specific recommendations, please do not hesitate to contact Melina Hale, Vice Provost for Academic Initiatives, mhale@uchicago.edu.
