Transportation Guide for UChicago Emeriti Faculty

June 19, 2018

The Provost's Office is pleased to announce a new resource for emeriti faculty: a complete guide to the transportation options available around campus.

Click here to view the PDF. To download it, select the button marked "Download" in the top right corner of the screen.

The guide includes emeriti-specific information on how to ride the buses and shuttles that serve the campus area, as well as maps and route details. For your convenience, the guide is designed to be printed on regular sheets of 8.5"x11" paper, though it can also be viewed anytime as an electronic file.

As a reminder, summer bus schedules are now in effect. CTA #171 & #172 will only run during weekday rush hours until September 4, 2018. All UGo shuttles will maintain normal service except for the Regents Express and South Loop routes, which will resume with Fall Quarter on October 1, 2018. Read the original announcement about summer schedules here.

Notes on the transportation guide

The Emeriti Faculty Steering Committee, a body that meets quarterly to discuss emeriti engagement and improvements to services for retired faculty, identified campus transportation as a service that has proven particularly difficult to navigate.

To better serve emeriti faculty and make it possible for them to travel to and from campus with ease, this guide collects all of the campus bus and shuttle options in one place and answers some of the most common transportation questions emeriti have.

While this guide will be updated when major changes occur, the most up-to-date information on temporary route changes due to construction, etc., will always be found at uchicago.transloc.com or in the UChicago and Ventra mobile applications.

Major transportation changes will also be communicated directly to the emeriti, whether through this website (emeritifaculty.uchicago.edu) or via email.
