Dear Members and Friends of the Emeriti Community,
We hope that you are safe and doing well in these challenging times. We are reaching out to ensure you have the most up-to-date information on the University of Chicago’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, and to share some ways to remain connected to each other and to campus.
If you would like to learn more about how the University is responding to the coronavirus, please consult the University’s COVID-19 website (https://coronavirusupdates.uchicago.edu/). You can find general information, advice for precautionary steps, answers to frequently asked questions, and more there. In addition, we would like to highlight a presentation on coronavirus from our hospital epidemiologist, Dr. Emily Landon, which is available on the website. If you need guidance, assistance, or resource information related to the coronavirus, please contact coronavirusinfo@uchicago.edu.
We will continue to post content and updates to the emeriti website. We’ve added links to recorded lectures and other academic events you might enjoy viewing during this period of social distancing – please seeStaying Connected During COVID-19 on the website’s Resources page. Of course, you can always contact us at emeritifaculty@uchicago.edu.
We are also working to bring people together in new ways. To start those efforts, we will host virtual meet-ups with members of the emeriti community in the coming weeks. During these sessions we can talk about what’s happening on campus and would love to hear from you. The technology is very straightforward – all you really need is internet service and a computer or tablet – and we can try to help you connect.
