Please review the FAQs below to determine whether you need a University-hosted Zoom account. If so, email emeritifaculty@uchicago.edu with your name and UChicago email address.

Do I need an account to join Zoom calls?

No. You can join any Zoom video or audio call using the link or dial-in information the host sends to you.

You only need an account if you want to host meetings on Zoom.

I need to host 1-on-1 meetings. Do I need a UChicago Zoom account?

No. Zoom's basic account is free for anyone and includes unlimited one-on-one meetings. Visit https://zoom.us/ to sign up for a free account.

I need to host group meetings with 3+ people. Do I need a UChicago Zoom account?

Yes. Zoom's free account is limited to 40-minute meetings with 3 or more participants. If you need to host larger group meetings for your work, please email emeritifaculty@uchicago.edu.
